DAY 2 : SONI WATERFALLS & MAASAI CULTURAL EXPERIENCE
Start Time: 10:30 AM
After breakfast, you will be transferred to Lushoto Bus Terminal where your journey begins.
SONI WATERFALLS VISIT
Board a public bus to Soni Village and upon arrival, descend on foot to the beautiful Soni Waterfalls.
Formed by the confluence of the Mkuzu and Bangala rivers, the waterfall cascades dramatically into the lush valleys below, creating one of the most scenic natural attractions in the Usambara Mountains.
Spend time relaxing, taking photos and enjoying the refreshing natural surroundings.
After the visit, ascend back to Soni bus station.
TRANSFER TO MOMBO FOOTHILLS
Continue your journey by boarding another public bus to Mombo town, located at the foothills of the Usambara Mountains.
Upon arrival, enjoy a local lunch at Mombo before resume your hike to Maasai village.
HIKE TO MAASAI VILLAGE (Mlembule & Omba Mungu)
Start a 2-hour hike (~8 km) through open landscapes toward the Maasai villages.
Arrive in the afternoon, where you will be welcomed by the Maasai community often as young herders return with cattle from grazing.
MAASAI CULTURAL EXPERIENCE
Engage in an authentic and interactive cultural immersion:
• Learn about Maasai traditions, beliefs, and taboos
• Visit traditional bomas (homes)
• Understand their cattle-based lifestyle
• Participate in traditional songs and dances
• Experience Maasai dress and ornaments
Hands-on activities include:
• Milking cows with Maasai women
• Learning how houses are constructed
• Trying Maasai spear throwing Enjoy a traditional Maasai dinner in the village.

After breakfast, depart for Manga Magoha Village, located along the main highway connecting Dar es Salaam, Moshi and Arusha.

From here, enjoy a 1-hour hike to Lake Manga, a peaceful crater lake surrounded by nature.
