DAY 1 : ARRIVAL IN LUSHOTO - WARM WELCOME
Upon arrival at Lushoto Bus Terminal, you will be warmly received by our team and transferred to your arranged accommodation.

Take time to relax and enjoy the peaceful mountain atmosphere as you prepare for the next day’s adventure.

DAY 2 : LUSHOTO APICULTURE MUSEUM
Begin your journey with a guided hike from your accommodation through local villages toward Jegestal Valley, a historical area once known for hunting activities. Enjoy the scenic landscapes as you transition into the natural environment of the Usambara Mountains. Arrive at the Lushoto Apiculture Museum, where you will experience an inspiring initiative led by the local NGO TANBEES. Discover how beekeeping is transforming rural livelihoods while promoting conservation.

During your visit, you will:-

• Learn the ecological importance of bees in pollination, biodiversity and food security
• Explore the differences between stinging and stingless bee species
• Taste a variety of organic local honeys
• Enjoy a unique honey wine (mead) tasting
• Tour the museum exhibits guided by a knowledgeable bee expert
MAGAMBA NATURE FOREST RESERVE
After the museum experience, continue your hike into the lush Magamba Nature Forest Reserve, one of the most important montane rainforests in the region.

Explore its rich biodiversity as your guide introduces you to:-

• Indigenous trees and medicinal plants
• Unique bird species and forest wildlife
• The ecological importance of forest conservation

Visit the historic Old German Cave, then proceed to hike up to Kiguluhakwewa Peak (1,840m) the highest point in the area. From the summit, enjoy breathtaking panoramic views over Lushoto town and the surrounding forest landscape.

Take a well-deserved picnic lunch at the peak, surrounded by nature.

Magamba Forest is also home to:-

• Rare Usambara chameleons
• Black-and-white colobus monkeys
• A wide variety of bird species
COFFEE TOUR (SIO TIBUNDE)
After descending from the forest, continue to Kwembago Village (Soi Tibunde) for an authentic coffee experience.

Here, you will:

• Learn how local coffee is grown and harvested
• Participate in traditional coffee processing peeling, roasting and grinding
• Prepare and taste freshly brewed Usambara coffee using local methods
IRENTE VIEW POINT
After the coffee tour, proceed to the iconic Irente View Point (1,300m) one of the most spectacular viewpoints in the Usambara Mountains. Irente offers breathtaking 360-degree panoramic views, including sweeping vistas of the Maasai Steppe, Mazinde plains and vast sisal plantations stretching across the lowlands. It is also the best location to experience the magical Usambara sunset, as the sky transforms into warm golden and orange hues.

After enjoying the sunset, return to Lushoto town or your accommodation for dinner and overnight.
