LUSHOTO TO MOSHI CYCLING ADVENTURE
This unforgettable cycling journey is one of Northern Tanzania’s most scenic and rewarding bike tours. Starting in the cool highlands of the Usambara Mountains, the route gradually descends into the vast plains beneath Mount Kilimanjaro. Along the way, you’ll experience dramatic landscape changes, authentic rural life, cultural encounters and thrilling riding challenges.

















Trip Itinerary
DAY 1 : ARRIVAL AT LUSHOTO
Upon arrival at Lushoto Bus Terminal, you will be warmly welcomed by our team and transferred to your selected accommodation.
Take time to relax and enjoy the cool mountain climate as you prepare for the adventure ahead. Dinner will be served at your lodge.

DAY 2 : LUSHOTO - MTAE
Distance: ~57 km
Duration: 6–7 hours
Your adventure begins in Lushoto with a steady uphill ride on a tarmac road toward Magamba. From here, transition onto a rugged countryside track as you ride through scenic landscapes and rural villages.
Stop at Lukozi Village for a well-deserved lunch before continuing your ascent to Mabughai Village, where you will visit a local women’s pottery group and learn about traditional craftsmanship.
From Mabughai, enjoy a rewarding downhill ride to Mtae, where you will check in at your lodge and relax.
In the late afternoon (around 16:00), take a short walk to the famous Mambo Viewpoint (World Viewpoint) for a breathtaking sunset over the Maasai plains. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.

Duration: 6–7 hours

Continue cycling alongside Ndungu Lake, a peaceful area known for local fishing activities and birdlife. The ride offers a mix of gentle terrain and scenic views.
Arrive in Gonja in the late afternoon for dinner and overnight.

Duration: 5–6 hours
Start your day with an exhilarating descent from Mtae toward Mkundi Mbara Village, where you will stop for lunch.

After breakfast, begin your longest riding day toward Same Town. The route passes near the boundary of Mkomazi National Park, where, with some luck, you may spot wildlife such as oryx and other antelopes.
Enjoy lunch en-route before continuing across open plains toward Same.
Arrive in the evening for dinner and a well-earned rest.

Duration: 7–8 hours

Cycle through local settlements and open landscapes as you make your way to Mwanga Town. Stop for lunch and spend the afternoon at leisure.

Overnight: Mwanga
Duration: 4–5 hours
Today’s ride follows a relatively smooth road along the highway, offering a more relaxed cycling experience compared to previous days.
Cycle through local settlements and open landscapes as you make your way to Mwanga Town. Stop for lunch and spend the afternoon at leisure.

DAY 6 : MWANGA - MOSHI
Distance: ~54 km
Duration: 5–6 hours
On your final day, cycle toward Moshi Town, passing through Himo where you will stop for lunch.
As you approach Moshi, enjoy views of Mount Kilimanjaro (weather permitting), a perfect finale to your journey.
Arrive in Moshi in the afternoon, marking the end of your cycling adventure.

Duration: 5–6 hours
On your final day, cycle toward Moshi Town, passing through Himo where you will stop for lunch.
As you approach Moshi, enjoy views of Mount Kilimanjaro (weather permitting), a perfect finale to your journey.
