6 DAYS – LUSHOTO TO MTAE (CULTURE & NATURE)

Upon arrival at Lushoto bus terminal you will be picked from bus terminal transfered to your overnight accommodation (HB)

Distance : Approx 24km
Hiking duration: 6-7 hours

Start trekking from the hotel uphill through Kwembago traditional village, farmlands spot out chameleon learn about cultural life of shambaa and kilindi ethnic groups. Continue your hike up to Magamba rainforest rich in frola and fauna such as black and white colobus monkeys, blue monkeys and some endemic trees species, pass by Old German cave then keep walking to the Kiguluhakwewa peak 1,840m where you will have picnic lunch while enjoying the view of lushoto town. After lunch walk down- hill through the forest trail all the way to lukozi village for dinner and overnight. FB

Hiking duration: 5-6 hours

Proceed hiking from Lukozi to Rangwi village pass through villages where you can interact with local people learning their daily way of living, enjoy nice landscapes, spot out chameleons, learn local herbs medicine and keep walking until check in to your set accommodation for dinner and overnight FB.

Hiking duration: 5-6 hours

Hike from Rangwi to mtae world view point, start with uphill challenge arrive at the top/peak and enjoy the view of nkelei village, descend to continue walking within the planted forest enjoy the landscape possible to spot out chameleons. Pass through the villages arrive at sunga village and pass by women pottery workshop at mabughai where you can learn how pots can be made from clay soil and if interested you can have chance of making your own pot. After this experience walk to your accommodation for dinner and overnight FB.

Hiking hours : 3 hours

In the morning enjoy the sun rises and kilimajaro mountain at 6:30am (depends with weather). After breakfast short walk to cliff before you take private transport back to lushoto town. Before reaching Lushoto at Magamba village stop-by Lushoto Apiculture Museum where you will learn how a local NGO – TANBEES transforming and improving the livelihoods of locals through beekeeping where you will learn the importance of bees in nature, food, conservation and pollination also taste the organic local honey from stinging and stingless bee species pass through museum exhibits guided by bee expert.

After the Apiculture museum proceed to Soi Tibunde to learn how the locals grow coffee, peel, grind and cook using local tools to get the full taste of Usambara mountains coffee.

After Coffee tour you will hike towards magnificent Kisasa waterfall as your last tour activity.

Dinner and overnight to the set accommodation FB.
