DAY TRIP – MKOMAZI NATIONAL PARK

Mkomazi national park is located northeastern Tanzania whilst sharing border with Kenyan Tsavo West National Park. Mkomazi is partly in Same District of Kilimanjaro Region and other side is Lushoto District in Tanga Region. Mkomazi can be reached by road from nearest Kilimanjaro International Airport 142km and by air through Kisima airstrip located inside the park.

Most animals that can be seen at Serengeti and Ngorongoro crater can be seen on this magnificent park also.

Furthermore Mkomazi National Park has attained international renown for rehabilitating rhino, and it offers viewing and educational opportunities for visitors.

For birds travelers Mkomazi is a number one fascinating destination for bird watching, boasting more than 450 avian species including some Eurasian migratory species.

Visitors to Mkomazi are treated to guided game drives with hopes of finding Topis, African wild dogs, Beisa Oryx, lesser kudu, lions, impalas, zebras, giraffes, Dik-dik, elephants, hartebeests, buffaloes, gerenuk, gazelles and many others.

Your day trip will also introduce you to part of the 450 birds species in the Park.

Your game drive will end at evening hours where you will exit the park to Same town either to Lushoto home of Usambara mountains
