LUSHOTO TOWN SIGHTSEEING TOUR

On this day tour you will start from old colonial administrative building where to date being used as District Commissioner office learn some historical facts about the building and its structure then descend through old Post office building to old colonial prison currently used as Lushoto district prison. Proceed to old colonial hotel where to date is used as roman catholic church see the structure and proceed to Lushoto local market where various farmers from different villages gather to sell their fresh vegetables and varieties of commodities (market days are thursday and sunday)

You will then visit Mr Matson coconut workshop where he will show you the various items that can be made from coconut such as coconut oils, ashtray, sugar and salt pots and earings.

You will then keep walking and pass through old colonial cemeteries all the way to Kitivo village where you will learn how the locals use sugarcane to make three products such as a juice, local beer and spirit as final product, you will have an opportunity to taste the products and buy some.

From Kitivo village you will proceed to Lion wattle plant a manufacturer of Mimosa Wattle trees by extraction and put them into solid form ready for exportation. The solid extraction products is a natural vegetable product that is used in the Leather Tannery Industry with huge demand among the Leather refinery industries all over the world where the law materials availability is in Africa regions like our country Tanzania. This plant has been operating since 1998 here in Lushoto with positive economic impact to locals.

Your next visit after Lion wattle will be at private owned Bulla garden where you will learn various species of trees that the locals grows and vast flora and fauna plants.

Your last visit on this colorful day will be at Muzdalfa restaurant where your delicious hot local meal will be waiting for you to sum-up your day activities.
