Upon arrival at Lushoto Bus Terminal, you will be warmly welcomed and transferred to your selected accommodation nestled in the cool highlands of the Usambara Mountains. Depending on your arrival time, you may relax at the lodge or take a short village walk to experience the peaceful atmosphere and scenic surroundings.

An early morning departure by 4×4 safari vehicle takes you on a scenic drive from Lushoto to Mkomazi National Park, arriving at approximately 08:00 am.

Begin your game drive through the park’s vast savannah landscapes, home to a wide variety of wildlife. Mkomazi offers sightings similar to those in Serengeti and Ngorongoro, but with fewer crowds and a more intimate feel.

Key highlights of the day include:-

• Rhino Sanctuary Visit: Experience one of Africa’s most successful black rhino conservation projects and learn about ongoing rehabilitation efforts.
• African Wild Dogs: A rare chance to observe one of the continent’s most endangered predators.
• Wildlife Viewing: Expect to see giraffes, elephants, zebras, buffaloes, hartebeests, oryx, lesser kudu, impalas, gazelles, gerenuk, dik-dik, lions and more.
• Bird Watching: Spot a variety of species from over 450 recorded birds, including resident and migratory species.

In the late afternoon, exit the park and drive to Same Town for relaxation after an adventurous day.

After breakfast, depart from Same Town to your next destination whether continuing your Tanzanian safari circuit, heading to Kilimanjaro International Airport (approx. 142 km) or returning to Lushoto.
