SOI TIBUNDE COFFEE TOUR

Experience an authentic day coffee tour in the heart of the Usambara Mountains at Soi Tibunde, located in Kwembago village. This immersive journey takes you through the entire coffee process from farm to cup while connecting you with local farmers and their daily life.

Your tour begins with a guided walk through the lush coffee farms, where you will learn how coffee is grown, cared for and harvested using traditional and sustainable practices. Depending on the season, you may even participate in picking ripe coffee cherries alongside the farmers.

At the processing area, you will follow each step of coffee preparation, including pulping, fermenting, drying, roasting and grinding. Local guides will demonstrate both traditional and improved techniques, giving you a deeper appreciation of the work behind every cup.

The highlight of the tour is enjoying a freshly brewed cup of organic Usambara coffee, prepared in a traditional way, often accompanied by local snacks called Kashata. Along the way, you’ll also hear stories about how coffee farming supports livelihoods in the community.
